About


VGATE is a web-based platform that enables conference organizers to plan an online conference using Spreadsheets + Zoom . It comprises of:

(i) vgate-sheet, a spreadsheet like Google Sheets, Office 365, Openoffice or even stand-alone excel or Openoffice files that allow different roles (Program Chairs, General Chairs, Proceeding Chairs) to collaborate and plan the event using a spreadsheet interface.

Sheets provide enormous flexibility with integration of html, merging columns/sheets/etc through standard excel functions with a zero learning curve.

(ii) zoom-link, which provides direct integration and licence management of Zoom URLs throughout the conference and in real time;

(iii) vgate-client, a mobile-friendly website that presents with minimum clutter all necessary information to the online attendees (social rooms, helpdesk, live program with number of participants per room, multimedia and proceedings integration, social program with youtube video integration, extremely fast switch between rooms with real-time updates).

VGATE uses a blend of languages and technologies, namely: JQUERY/CSS3/HTML5, Google App Script, PHP, BASH, UNIX, Zoom Webhooks. VGATE has been authored in the context of the EDBTICDT 2021 conference organization and is sponsored by Zoom!
